A BIT ABOUT ME & WHAT I DO


I'm a wife and mom of three who knows all to well the struggles of work/life balance.  Add in trying to maintain some sort of order at home and keeping things organized, well that's enough to make anyone wave their white flag. 

I wholeheartedly believe that when our surroundings are organized and we make our home and spaces work with us and for us instead of adding chaos, our mind begins to clear and stress dissipates.  We are able to think more clearly and be more present and productive where it matters most…with our families and our work.  


My specialty is sustainability! I organize a clients space in such a way where there is little to no extra effort to keep the space looking and feeling beautifully organized and functional.  Your space will work for you instead of you constantly working to maintain your space.  The sense of relief, calm and accomplishment I leave my clients with fuels my organizational fire!  An organized space is a freed mind, and with a freed mind productivity soars!

If you couldn't tell by the name, I take a REALISTIC approach to organizing.  There are many ways to go about organizing, but the bottom line is, if it's not REALISTIC to your lifestyle and how you and your family work, it won't work, it won't last and in a few months or a year you'll be right back where you started.

In order to ensure what I have created for my clients works for them, I like to have a check back with my clients about 2-3 weeks after their project is complete to see how the space is working.  I offer a check back and tweak to every single client on every single project - if you find that something isn’t quite working for you I'll come back and tweak things to make it just right.  It is essential that the space is personalized to how YOU live.  A technique that works for one may not work for another.  Personalizing organizational techniques for each of my clients is the key to sustainability and functionality.

HOW WE GET STARTED

  • We’ll start off by having an in-home consultation, always free with no obligation.  I’ll ask some questions and get a feel for how you use the space.  We’ll discuss what you are looking to achieve and I’ll share some ideas.  We’ll make a plan and set a date for your ORGANIZATION RENOVATION!


  • Between our visits I’ll fine tune my vision for the space and shop for any necessary organizational accessories.  We’ll certainly discuss these ahead of time and I will shop based on your taste and budget.  There are so many creative ways to organize a space that purchasing organizational accessories isn’t always necessary.  I enjoy using things that most clients already have around their home. 


  • Game Day!  I’ll get to work on your space. Some projects can be completed in just a few hours, some will be completed in a 2-3 phase process taking 1-3 visits.


  • Once your organization renovation is complete we’ll evaluate the space together and make any tweaks you would like and schedule my check-in.

Selling a home and moving can be a stressful time to say the least.  Preparing your home to sell can be an overwhelming task, however, it's a great opportunity to begin to pack, declutter, donate and even purge.  Sifting through the things we all accumulate over the years and packing in an organized fashion now, will make unpacking in your new home a much easier task.  


Staging your home is one of the most important things you can do when selling your home.  You want to create a vision for your prospective buyers, making it as attractive, serene and inviting as possible.  Staging gives you a leg up on the competition and the best chance of getting top dollar for your home.

I just wanted to follow up in regards to the playroom organization project you completed at my home this week. Our playroom is located in our basement and has long been the "dumping ground" for all the toys, games, puzzles, etc. in our house. While space was not our issue, functionality, flow and aesthetically pleasing design was. I have long tried to make the room look neat and organized, while at the same time desiring a practical and easy space for our three boys to play. 


I had all but given up with the project, until I met you. I felt stuck, and really did not know how to make the space look and feel more organized. We could not be happier with the end result after working with you! My husband has mentioned to me several times how nice the room looks and keeps telling me that you did such a great job! I am so happy that we both love it. Everything has a place that makes sense. The room does not look as cluttered, and the kids know exactly where to go to find what they need. The layout is perfect. I like symmetry, but also comfort, and you were able to achieve both with our existing furniture! 


The playroom has a flow now and I don't feel overwhelmed when I walk in the room anymore. There is actually more space than before! You were able to create an organized closet storage solution, so now when I open the closets I do not feel like things are falling out and I am looking at chaos. Your ideas and solutions were practical, and functional and make finding items so much easier! 


I also can't thank you enough for finding a solution to our Lego storage problem! I had Legos everywhere. My boys play with them on our dining room table and they were starting to take over the room. It was really bothering me and I could not figure out what to do. The cubes that you found for our media cabinet are not only practical, but they were inexpensive, look great and are an easy way to store them! We are so happy with them and it makes for easier pick-up and storage!

PRICING

I most often charge per project.  The mission of Realistic Organizing is to reduce stress, I have found that charging hourly can create a sense of anxiety and feeling like a race against the clock.  I take my time with each and every project, I do not expect my clients to incur the expense of the time my creative process may take.  I take all of this into consideration when pricing a project and never add any additional charges to a quote no matter how long the project ends up taking. 

I do my very best to work with all budgets and offer discounts for multiple projects.
